To the Honorable the House of Assembly in legislative Session convened. May it please your Honorable House, we the undersigned inhabitants of Ramea, humbly showeth the immediate - requirement - of Telegraph connection between Ramea and Burgeo, petitions in the past have been presents to the Honorable of Assembly asking that Ramea may be be connected with the other parts of the World by telegraph, it was through a marconi stations would mean the requirement, it fell through owing to the past of maintenance being to great ?? fifteen hundred dollars annually this ?? must be entertained by the late ?forth? the ?? way now is to have a cable of say six miles long to connect with the angler land line between White Bear Bay and Burgeo or ?? cable to Burgeo a distance of nine or ten miles messers ?Rennys? have offered for the past three years office free and the operators salary as an indncement to help bring about the long felt want. Its most impossible to do any commercial business without being connector by telegraph besides the messers ?Penny? doing a mercantile business of Ramea, Messer Clement of have a branch business here and two other mercantile men here as well. The undersigned petitioners feel assured the Honorable House at the Session will provide means so that we will no longer be without telegraph extension and your petitioners us in duty bound shall ever pray.
