Albert John Anthony Ball

I, Albert John Anthony Ball late of 10 Southwell Gardens South Kensington and now of 78 Park Mansions Knightsbridge and of the Atenseum and Savile Clubs all in the Administrative County of London Esquire hereby revoke all former testamentary instruments made by me and declare this to be my last will.
I appoint the London City and Midland Executor and Trustee Company Limited (hereinafter called the Company) and my cousin Antoine Joseph Thomas Alexander Ball to be the executors and trustees of this my will.
I declare that the Company may in either such capacity act by its proper officer or officers who may employ and pay a Solicitor Broker any other Agent to transact all or any business required to be done (including the receipt and payment of money) And the Company shall also be entitled to remuneration (free from duties) in accordance with the scale of fees being in force at the date of this my will or such other scale (if any) as may be arranged by written agreement between the Company and me And I further declare if at the time of my death the business of the Company shall have been transferred to or incorporated with that of any other Company this my will shall be read and construed as if the name of such other Company were substituted for that of the Company throughout.
I hereby declare that all money securities and documents of title to property subject to the trusts hereof shall be under the exclusive custody and control of the Company but so that the other trustee or trustees of this my will shall have all reasonable facilities for periodically inspecting the same as well as any accounts reports and documents relating thereto And that in the case of registered stock shares or securities the name of the Company shall be placed first in the Register of the owners of such stock shares or securities the name of the Company shall be placed first in the Register of the owners of such stock shares or securities and that all steps shall be taken for ensuring the payment to the Company exclusively or to its nominee for the time being of all dividends and interest thereon and for enabling the Company to exercise all voting and other rights arising therefrom.
I authorise and empower my executors and trustees to retain for so long as they shall think fit all or any of my investments existing at my death in their then present state and in so doing they shall not be liable for any less occasioned thereby.
I bequeath to my housekeeper Emma Farthing if she shall be in my service at the time of my death a legacy of Four hundred pounds free of duty.
I bequeath to the said Antoine Joseph Thomas Alexander Ball one hundred pounds free of duty if he shall prove my will and I also bequeath to him in any event all my furniture silver china and all my personal and other effects except securities for money.
In confirmation of an agreement made by me on the second day of May one thousand nine hundred and twenty eight I hereby bequeath to The Savile Club Limited (hereinafter called the said Club) absolutely my debenture No 2 dated the twenty fifth day of January one thousand nine hundred and twenty eight one of the series of Three hundred and fifteen issued by the said club in that year and any other debenture or debentures of the said club that I may hold at my death together with all unpaid dividends and interest thereon respectively but subject to the condition that any duties payable on my death in respect of any debenture and the dividends and interest thereon hereby bequeathed shall be paid by the said club.
I bequeath to my brother Nicholas Albert Ball in case he shall survive me an annuity during the remainder of his life of three hundred pounds a year free of legacy duty but subject to income tax the said annuity to be paid to him half yearly on the fifth day of January and the fifth day of July the first payment or the proper proportionate part thereof to be made on the first fifth day of January or fifth day of July succeeding my death and I direct my trustees to retain a sufficient part of the securities for money held for me by the London Joint City and Midland Bank or any other Bank for answering by the annual income thereof the said annuity and the expenses incidental to the payment thereof and that when the said annuity shall cease the said securities so retained shall fall into and form part of my residuary estate.
I give the residue of my property whatsoever and wheresoever to my cousins the said Antoine Joseph Thomas Alexander Ball and John Alexander Nicholas Ball in equal shares with benefit of survivorship in case either of them shall predecease me.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twenty eight day of November one thousand nine hundred and twenty nine.
