The last will of John Bishop (of John)
late of Burnt Head, Cupids, District of
Port de Grave, Planter, deceased
.

          I John Bishop of John Burnt Head, Cupids, District of Port de Grave, in the Island of Newfoundland, Planter, do make and ordain this to be my last will and Testament in the manner and form following namely:
Fist I give and bequeath to my three sons Benjamin Bishop, John Bishop and William Bishop the sum of Four hundred dollars each.
Second. I give and bequeath to my two daughters Delilah Bartlett and Rachel Legge the sum of one hundred Dollars and sixty dollars each.
Third. I give and bequeath to my adopted daughter Dinah Ritch the sum of eighty dollars.
Fourth. Whatever amount of money may be remaining in the Newfoundland Savings Bank (in which my money is deposited) after the before mentioned legacies are paid, is to be divided equally between my three sons Benjamin Bishop John Bishop and William Bishop.
Fifth. I give my dwelling house to my son William Bishop.
Sixth I give all my land and other property not heretofore mentioned in this will, to my three sons Benjamin Bishop, John Bishop and William Bishop, each son to take such part thereof as may be mutually agreed to between themselves.
Seventh. I give to the Church the balance due me for repairs done to St. Augustus Church a few years ago.
Eighth. I hereby appoint one of my sons Benjamin Bishop, executor to this my last will and Testament. In witness whereof I set my hand and seal at Burnt Head aforesaid this twenty ninth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and two. John his X mark Bishop (L.S.)
Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator John Bishop of John (having been previously read over and explained to him as and for his last will and Testament in the presence of us who have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto in the presence of the said Testator, the interlingation in said will having been made before being signed by the said Testator.
