Will of Maurice Boland
from Newfoundland will books volume 8 pages 544-545 probate year 1909

In re
      Maurice Boland          deceased.

      Know all men by these Presents that I Maurice Boland of Birchy Cove Bay of Islands, and Lighthouse Keeper at Frenchmans Head, being of sound disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and Testament.
1st. I give and bequeath to my son Maurice E Boland the waterside Premises with all the stores and tenements thereto adjoining and bounded as follows on the north and East by the waters of the Humber and the south by the public Road and on the west by John Messerveys property I also give and bequeath to him the shop or store on the South side of the Road now occupied by him To have and to hold the aforesaid premises for himself his heirs and assigns forever
2nd I give and bequeath to my two daughters Julia and Eleanor Boland the land and dwelling House and other tenements standing thereon and bounded as follows on the north by the public Road and shop given and bequeathed to Maurice E Boland on the East by Dr. Geo Webber’s property on the south by the Railway Track, and on the west by John Messerveys property to have and to hold the aforesaid land House and tenements for their own sole and separate use and their heirs and assigns forever.
3rd I also give and bequeath to my son Maurice E Boland the piece or parcel of land which extends from the Railway Freight shed or boundary siding to the old Road and beyond that as now claimed by me and bounded as follows on the north by side Track and Freight Shed on the east by Dr. G. Webbers Land on the south by the old Road and other unclaimed lands and on the west by land of John Messervey to have and to hold the same to him the said Maurice E. Boland and his heirs and assigns forever.
4(th)     I ordain and appoint the Rev A Sears P.P. and George Barbour as executors of this my last will and Testament In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and publish and declare this to be my last will and Testament in the presence of the witnesses named below this 7th day of August, in the year of our Lord One thousand nine hundred & six (1906)     M. Boland (LS)     Signed Sealed published, and declared by the said Maurice Boland, as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other, have subscribed our names as witness thereto signatures of witnesses    Henry Brockway Angus McEchren Collector
