Will of James B. Butler Last Will and Testament of This is the last will and Testament of me James Butler of Port de Grave. I devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Rebecka Butler all my property and effects as follows: the house I now occupy with the appurtenances, the garden adjoining and the store on the water side commonly known as the Furneaux property and upon the decease of my said beloved wife I devise and bequeath the said property to my said wife's nephew George Bursell if he continue to aid and assist her, as he has aided and assisted in the past to him his heirs and assigns for their use and benefit, provided further that anything to the contrary shall not prevent my wife from selling said property if need should require. I also devise and bequeath to my beloved wife aforesaid my part of the cabbage garden in the front or on the south side of Joseph Butler's house: also my share of cabbage garden on East end of said house; and also my part of potato garden at the East end of Charles Butler's dwelling house, inherited from my father; giving my said wife at the same time power to sell said lands above mentioned if needed, provided that the first offer be given to my brother's children. I do further give and bequeath to my said beloved wife all my household furniture and effects and whatsoever I may die possessed of not above mentioned for her sole and absolute use and benefit. I appoint George Bursell aforesaid, George Andrews and Henry Dawe Jr. Executors of this my last will. Witness my hand at Port de Grave this Twenty third day of August A.D. 1893. Signed published and declared as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereto subscribed our names as witnesses this Twenty third day of August in the year of our Lord 1893.
