Last Will and Testament of
Julia Callanan of Harbor Grace
Widow deceased.
To all to whom these presents shall come I
Julia Callanan of Harbor Grace Newfoundland widow being of sound disposing
mind memory and recollection do make publish and declare this to be my last
will and Testament. -
1 I hereby revoke all former wills made by me
(2) I will bequeath and give to the Revd. John March one hundred dollars for
masses for the repose of the souls of my late husbands father and mother and
my father and mother in equal proportions -
(3) I will devise bequeath and give to the Right Revd. R. Macdonald Bishop
of Harbor Grace four hundred dollars towards the erection of an altar in honor
of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Cathedral Harbor Grace.
(4) I will bequeath and give to the following clergymen for masses for the
repose of the soul of my late husband and myself to the Revd John March Twenty
dollars. Revd F. D. McCarthy Carbonear Twenty dollars. Revd
Joseph Murphy Holyrood
Twenty dollars. Revd John Rowe P.P. Western Bay Twenty dollars. Revd
Richard Walsh P.P. Fortune Harbor Twenty dollars Revd. Thomas
Lynch Kings Cove Twenty
dollars Revd. John Lynch Conche Twenty dollars. The Right
Revd. R. Macdonald Fifty dollars. The Right Revd. H. Cartagun of Galapole Twenty five dollars
The Right Rev D. Falconer Lacedonia Twenty five dollars
5. To the Presentation Convent Harbor Grace fifty dollars
6. To the Presentation Convent Carbonear fifty dollars
7. To the Revd. J. Dougherty New York for the Home of the Fatherless child
twenty dollars with intention for Masses for the repose of my husbands and
my families souls.
(8) to my niece Fanny Jones three hundred dollars
(9) to my niece Josephine Glavine fifty dollars
(10) To my nephew James Cleary Twenty dollars
(11) To my husband's nephew James Dawson Twenty dollars
(12) To my nieces daughter Mary Cody Riverhead Twenty dollars and the bed bedding
and furniture in the small room
(13) To Alice Ryan in trust for her daughter Janet
Ryan my Bed Bedding and
bedroom furniture
(14) To my niece Annie Fitzgerald Boston my gold watch and chain.
(15) The residue of my household furniture to my sister Mrs. Ann Cleary
(16) The Rest and Residue of my property money and goods I give to my sister
Ann Cleary and my brothers John Fitzgerald and Charles
Fitzgerald in equal
proportions share and share alike in addition to the sums of I have transferred
to them in the Harbor Grace Branch savings Bank
(17) I nominate and appoint Andrew T. Drysdale of Harbor Grace Notary Public
to be sole Executor to this my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof
I have hereunto set my hand and seal at Harbor Grace this twenty ninth day
