Will of William Dargaville Fry Carr, from Newfoundland will books volume 15 pages 404 & 405 probate year 1931

This is the last will and testament of me William Dargaville Fry Carr of Lane End Electors Way Berkhamsted in the County Hereford. Gentlemen I revoke all wills or other testamentary dispositions at any time heretofore made by me I give devise and bequeath all my property of whatsoever nature or kind and wheresoever situate unto my wife Mabel Alexandra Carr absolutely and I appoint my said wife and Herbert Knox McKay Executors and trustees of this my will Provided always that if my said wife shall die in my lifetime then I appoint the said Herbert Knox McKay and my brother Frederick Robert Carr (hereinafter called "my trustees") to be executors and trustees of this my will and I give devise and bequeath all my said property of every nature and kind and wheresoever situate unto my trustees upon trust to sell call in and convert into money the same or such part thereof as shall not consist of money by public auction or private contract and out of the proceeds of such sale calling and conversion and out of such part of my estate as shall consist of money hereinafter referred to as "my trust fund" after payment of my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses to pay the pecuniary legacies hereinafter named;
I give and bequeath the following pecuniary legacies (in the event of my said wife dying in my lifetime) to Evaleen Aherin the sum of one thousand five hundred pounds, to Clara Geraldine Annosley the sum of one thousand five hundred pounds, to Florence Emily Clarke the sum of two thousand pounds, to Meta Trotter the sum of one thousand pounds, to Ethel Louisa Culshaw the sum of one thousand pounds, to Alice Helena Wade the sum of one thousand pounds, to Adelaide Constance Mills the sum of one thousand pounds, to the said Robert Frederick Carr the sum of one thousand pounds To Gladys Hume Henderson the sum of two thousand pounds, to Gladys Aherin the sum of two thousand pounds, to Eleanor Hume Henderson the sum of five hundred pounds, to Elizabeth Montgomery Leader Williams the sum of five hundred pounds, to Sidney Prendergast McKay the sum of five hundred pounds to Ida Kathleen Litten the sum of five hundred pounds, to Dorothy Annosley the sum of one hundred pounds, to Elizabeth Clark the sum of one hundred pounds, to Sophia McKay the sum of one hundred pounds, to David Mills the sum of one hundred pounds, to Reginald Carr the sum of one hundred pounds, to Catherine Culshaw the sum of one hundred pounds, to Antonea James the sum of one hundred pounds, to Stella Carpendale the sum of one hundred pounds, to the said Herbert Knox McKay the sum of one hundred pounds and to Gussie Carr the sum of two hundred pounds and (in the event aforesaid) to pay the rest residue and remainder of my trust fund to the said Eleanor Hume Henderson, Elizabeth Montgomery Leader Williams, Sidney Prendergast McKay and Ida Kathleen Litten in equal shares and I hereby further declare that in the event of my said trust fund being insufficient to pay the above named legacies all the above legacies shall be prorated and I lastly declare that of any of the said legatees shall die in my lifetime leaving a child or children him or her surviving who shall survive me and attain the age of twenty one years such child or children shall take and if more than one equally between them the legacy share and interest under this my will which his her or their parent would have taken if he or she had survived me.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twenty fourth day of July one thousand nine hundred and twenty six.

Signed by the testator the said William Dargaville Fry Carr by his making his mark hereto as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us both present at the same time who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses the said will having been previously read over to him and explained to him when he appeared to perfectly understand the same
