Will of Joseph Cole
from Newfoundland will books volume 9 pages 39-40 probate year 1909

In re
      Joseph Cole          deceased.

      This is the Last will and Testament of me Joseph Cole of Carbonear in the Island of Newfoundland. I devise and bequeath to my son Joseph my dwelling house and my furniture including beds and bedding and all other things for use in the said house; also my outhouses and ground on which the said outhouses and dwelling house stand. I further devise and bequeath to my son Joseph the piece of land cleared by George Hart which land will be bounded on the north by land bequeathed by me to my son Bartlett, on the south by my dwelling house and outhouses; on the east by land belonging to James B. Peach and on the west by the Main Road.
To my son Bartlett I devise and bequeath the piece of land immediately to the north of that cleared by the said George Hart being bounded as follows: - On the north by land belonging to James B. Peach, on the South by the land bequeathed by me to my son Joseph, on the East by land belonging to James B. Peach and on the west by the main Road.
To my daughter Mary Cole I devise and bequeath that piece of land to the south of my dwelling house and bounded on the south by a Branch road, on the East by James B. Peach’s land, and on the west by the Main Road and it is my expressed wish and desire that the said Mary Cole, my daughter, shall live in my dwelling house until such time as she may be married.
I also devise and bequeath to my sons Bartlett and Joseph my fishing room in Triangle Labrador and all my fishing utensils in Carbonear or elsewhere the said fishing-room and utensils to be divided equally between them, and I appoint Ambrose Cole sole executor of this will hereby revoking all former and other wills Codicils or testamentary writings heretofore by me at any time made. In witness whereof I the testator have hereunto set my mark this third day of August in the year of Our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eight. Signed and declared by the testator as and for his Last will and Testament in the presence of us, who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses    Joseph his x mark Cole    John S. Mills    George A Moreton witnesses
