Will of William Costello
from Newfoundland will books volume 10 page 314 probate year 1915

In re
      WILLIAM COSTELLO       deceased.

      Last will and testament of William Costello.     Know all men by these presents that I William Costello of Kitchues Conception Harbor Harbor Main District Fisherman being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament.    First I give and bequeath to my wife Mary Costello all that piece and parcel of land below the road bounded on the East by David Costello’s North by road west by David Costello’s (Sr) South by water. Also I give and bequeath the said Mary Costello all that piece and parcel of land and my dwelling house stable or barn horse and all my personal property situated on the said land bounded on the East by David Costello’s land North by Bacon Cove Road West by David Costello’s (Sr) land South by Road.     The forgoing shall have effect so long as the said Mary Costello retains her widowhood but as soon as she changes her name my son John Costello is to take full possession of all my land property etc
      Second I give and bequeath my son John Costello all that piece and parcel of land bounded on the East by David Costello’s land North by Road West by James Costello’s land South by Water.     Also that piece and parcel of land bounded on East by David Costello’s land North by Road West by James Costello’s land South by my own land this piece of land is now used by my brother David who is to turn the same over to my son John.     On the said piece of land the said David has a barn and if he wants to retain the part on which stands his barn and part of said land be used as yard he has to make compensation by giving the same amount of land in any place that my said son John desires.    Also that piece and parcel of land bounded on the East by David Costello’s land North by Bacon Cove Road West by David Costello’s land South by Road.    Also that piece and parcel of uncleared land which was bequeathed by Father James Costello but remained unshared and when shared my said son John is to have my part.
      Third I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Costello that piece and parcel of land bounded on the East by William Cole’s land North unclaimed land West David Costello’s land South by Bacon Cove Road.
      Fourth I appoint my son John Costello executor of this my last will and testament.      In witness whereof I the said William Costello set my hand and seal hereto this twenty ninth day of June A.D. 1907. William his X mark Costello    Signed sealed published and declared by the said William Costello as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other and at his request have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses Michael F. Wade     Alick Kennedy    Maurice Wade
