Will of John Courage, Sr., from Newfoundland will books volume 15 page 452 probate year 1931

IN RE.                         DECEASED
John Courage, Sr.

I, John Courage of Catalina, Fisherman being of sound memory and understanding do make this my last Will and Testament.
(a)     I give to my son John Courage half my waterside property and the other half of my waterside property to the sons of my deceased son Reuben.
(b)     I give my son John my garden on the north side of the Public Road at Catalina, and I give to the sons of my deceased son Reuben the garden on the south side of the Public Road at Catalina.
(c)     I give the meadow land on the north side of the land which is to become John Courage's at my death to be divided equally between my son John Courage and the sons of my deceased son Reuben.
(d)     I give the Finch Garden to John Courage and to the sons of my deceased son Reuben to be divided equally between them.
(e)     I give the waterfront of the lower land known as Abel's to the sons of my deceased son Reuben, and the garden in the north side of the land known as Abel's to John Courage.
(f)     I give to the sons of my deceased son Reuben from John's garden up to the slide path running through the land and the remainder of this land to Church Road to my daughter Elizabeth Soper whilst living in Catalina but if she goes elsewhere it is to become the property of the sons of my deceased son Reuben.
(g)     All the land which I have left to John Courage is to be his during his lifetime and the life of his wife, Ann Courage, but in the event of the death of John Courage and his wife without children all the held land and property which I have left to my son John Courage is to become the property of the sons of my deceased son Reuben.
(g)     I give to my daughter Rachael Norman a bed.

The said will was executed by John Courage in the presence of Isaac J. Mifflen now of St John's but then of Catalina, Justice of the Peace and William J. Pomeroy of Catalina whose names were signed to the said will as witnesses to the execution thereof
