Hon. Eli Dawe

I, Eli Dawe Member of the Legislative Council of Newfoundland hereby revoke all testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me and declare this to be my last will.
I appoint Donald Gordon Fraser of Bay Roberts Druggist, James Norman of Coley's Point Teacher and Stephen Stephen B. Bradbury of St John's accountant to be the executors and trustees of this my will.
I will devise and bequeath my freehold land and dwelling house No 156 Patrick Street St John's all my household furniture or articles of domestic use, all ornaments in and about my said house 156 Patrick Street, to my trustees upon trust to convey that they shall permit my dear wife to have the use and enjoyment thereof during her lifetime, and after her death to my trustees upon trust to convey the same to my daughter Winifred to be hers absolutely.
I will devise and bequeath the old homestead at Coleys Point, consisting of dwelling house out-houses, fenced and unfenced land and with my portion of the beach and waterside adjoining the back land (the beach measuring about twenty seven feet from the Eastern to the Western boundary) all my household furniture in or about my said house at Coley's Point, to my Trustees upon trust that they shall permit my wife to have the use and enjoyment of the same during her lifetime, and after her decease to my trustees upon trust to convey the same to my daughter Winifred to be hers absolutely.
After my wife's decease, she, during her lifetime to receive the interest or income therefrom, I will devise and bequeath unto my daughter Emma the sum of two thousand dollars which are owed to me in respect of the Horwood Loan and all mortgage or other securities in respect thereof to be hers absolutely also the sum of three thousand dollars (J.N.   S.D.) loan to Gillingham secured by mortgage on his dwelling house situated on LeMarchant Road, west, to be hers absolutely.
After my wifes death, she, during, her lifetime to receive the interest or income therefrom, I will devise and bequeath to my daughter Winifred, two thousand dollars stock at eight per cent interest, in the United Towns Electric Company to be hers absolutely, also two thousand dollars in the St John's consolidated Foundry Company to be hers absolutely.
After my wife's deceased, she, during her lifetime to receive the interest or income therefrom, I will devise and bequeath three thousand Five Hundred dollars (J.N.   S.D.) Coupon Bonds in the United Towns Electric Company, also Five Hundred Dollars Coupon in said United Towns Electric Company, that is to say Four Thousand Dollars to be divided as follows, one thousand dollars to each of my grandsons children of my deceased son, Robert George Dawe, and one thousand dollars to their widowed mother, the wife of my deceased son, Robert George Dawe. After my wife's decease, she, during her lifetime to have the interest or income therefrom, I will devise and bequeath all money owing to me in respect of the March Loan and all other securities in respect thereof, to my trustees upon trust to divide the same equally between Catherine Fraser and Edith Fraser (J.N.  S.D.) daughters of my deceased daughter Mary Fraser, and to Alison Fraser, daughter of the said Mary Fraser, deceased, I will devise and bequeath nine hundred dollars stock in the Consolidated Foundry at St John's to be hers absolutely.
I will devise and bequeath the beach and waterside property which became mine under my late fathers will to my, trustees upon trust, to convey the same to my daughter, Winifred Dawe, also my right of way to use the road across the Pond, as conveyed to me by the Avalon Coal Company to be hers absolutely.
I will devise and bequeath two hundred dollars to my neice, Sarah Ann Taylor, if she survives me, to be hers absolutely, but if she predeceases me I declare that the said bequest shall lapse.
I will devise and bequeath the remainder of my estate, to which I shall be entitled at the time of my death, to my trustees, upon trust, to sell and convert the same into money, or as much thereof as may be necessary to pay my debts, funeral and testamentary expenses therefrom, and after my wife's death, she, during her lifetime to receive the income therefrom to pay one half of the clear residue thereof to my daughter Winifred Dawe, and the other half to the widow of my deceased son, Robert George Dawe, to be theirs absolutely.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand at Coley's Point this day of June A.D. 1928.
