Will of George Day from Newfoundland will books volume 15 page 18 probate year 1929

IN RE                         DECEASED.
GEORGE DAY
.

THIS is the last will and testament of me George Day of Saint John's Carpenter.

  1. I give devise and bequeath to my wife Susannah Day my leasehold dwelling house situate on Field Street in Saint John's and being part of the property held by me under lease from the Diocesan Synod of Newfoundland TO HOLD the same to her for all the remainder of my term thereof subject to the terms and conditions of the lease and to one half the ground rent reserved by the said lease.
  2. I give devise and bequeath to my said wife my other dwelling house situate on Scott Street in Saint John's (being the remaining portion of the property held by me under the said lease and measuring along Scott Street twenty two feet (including the passageway at the side) and from front to rear about thirty four feet) for her use during her life subject to the terms and conditions of the said lease and to one half the ground rent reserved by the said lease and upon her death I give devise and bequeath the said last mentioned dwelling house to my son Thomas B. Day for all the remainder of my term thereof subject as aforesaid.
  3. All the residue of my estate of every description I give devise and bequeath to my said wife forever and absolutely.
  4. I appoint my said wife and my said son executors of this my will.

WITNESS my hand at Saint John's aforesaid this 9th day of June Anno Domini One thousand nine hundred and twenty five.

SIGNED PUBLISHED AND DECLARED by the said testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other (all present at the same time) have hereunto our names subscribed as witnesses.
