In re
THOMAS DOWDEN.
DECEASED.
This is the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Dowden of the Logy Bay Road
near Saint John's Farmer.
- I devise and bequeath to my son William Dowden the Southern half of my farm
situate on the Logy Bay Road aforesaid with the house and the larger barn,
but I direct that the smaller barn thereon may be removed by my son Thomas,
should he desire to have it, within six months after my death. Should he not
remove it within the time aforesaid it shall become the property of my said
son William.
- To my son Thomas I devise and bequeath the Northern half of my said farm
and the said smaller barn (to be removed by him as aforesaid within the time
aforesaid, should he so desire).
- I direct that the dividing line between the lands given to my said two sons
shall run from the Southernmost gatepost on the portion of the property now
occupied by my son Thomas to the middle of the Eastern boundary fence (provided
such line will leave the buildings given to my son William on his portion of
the property).
- I give to each of my three daughters Jane Nicholls, Isabella King and Rebecca
Gushue the sum of One Hundred Dollars with interest thereon at the rate of
Three per centum per annum from this date.
- I give to my Granddaughter Flora Dowden the sum of One Hundred Dollars with
interest thereon at the rate of Three per centum per annum from this date.
- I give to each of my three Granddaughters Christabella King, Rebecca Dowden and Isabella Nicholls the sum of Fifty Dollars with interest thereon at the
rate of Three per centum per annum from this date.
- I direct that all farm implements and household furniture of which I may
die possessed shall be divided equally among my children surviving at my death.
- All the rest residue and remainder of my estate and effects of every description
I give devise and bequeath to my said daughter Isabella King in addition to
the legacy above given her.
- I appoint my said son Thomas Executor of this my Will.
WITNESS my hand at Saint John's aforesaid this 12th day of June Anno Domini
One Thousand Nine Hundred and Fourteen.
SIGNED PUBLISHED AND DECLARED by the said Testator as and for his last Will
and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and
in the presence of each other (all present at the same time) have hereunto
subscribed our names as witnesses. (Having been first read over and explained
to and approved of by said Testator.
