Supreme Court of Newfoundland. Be it Remembered, That on this Twenty ninth day of September in the and did acknowledge themselves to be held and firmly bound to our said Lady the Queen, Her Heirs and Successors, in the penal Sum of ??? hundred ---- Dollars, to be had, made and levied on their Goods, Chattels and Effects, jointly and severally, if Default is made in any of the conditions following :- NOW THE CONDITION OF THIS OBLIGATION IS SUCH, that if the above bounden Margaret Foley as Administratrix of the Estate and Effects of James Foley late of the St John's aforesaid Farmer
deceased, do make, or cause to be made, a just, true, and perfect inventory of all and singular the
Goods, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession, or
knowledge of her the said Margaret Foley---------------------------
as such Administratrix or to the hands or possession of any other person, or persons, for her and the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, in the Supreme Court of
Newfoundland, at or before the 26th day of March next ensuing the
date hereof ; and the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, and all other the Goods, Chattels,
Credits and Effects of the said deceased, at the time of his death, or which at any time afterwards
shall come into the hands or possession of her the said Margaret Foley----or to the
hands or possession of any other person or persons for her shall well and truly administer
according to Law, and further shall make, or cause to be made, a just and true account of her said Administration, on or before the 26th day of September-----------------

I certify that the notice on the other side hereof written has been posted in the office of the Chief Clerk & Registrar from the date thereof to this date & that no caveat or other objection has been entered thereto St Johns Nfld Sept 26. 1887 Otto Emerson
To the Honourable the Supreme Court or to one of the Honorable the Judges thereof The Petition of Margaret Foley of St Johns Widow Humbly Sheweth That your petitioners Husband James Foley late of St Johns Farmer deceased died at that place on or about the Eighteenth day of September A D 1887 Intestate leaving him surviving your petitioner his widow and five children viz Mildred, James Catherine Mary and Ellen all under age That the said James Foley at the time of his decease was possessed of property of the probable value of Eight Hundred Dollars That no probate or Administration to his said Estate has as yet been granted Your petitioner therefore prays Page 2 that Letters of Administration to his said Estate may be granted to her And as in duty bound &c &c St Johns Newfoundland MargaretherXmarkFoley
