AFFIDAVIT.

You shall swear that you believe this to be the true Last Will and Testament of Thomas Glen late of St Johns in the Central District of the Island of Newfoundland   Gentleman deceased

You shall swear that you will pay all the Debts and Legacies of the Deceased, so far as the Goods shall extend and the Law shall bind you ; and that you will exhibit a true, full and perfect Inventory of all and every the Goods, Rights and Credits of the deceased, together with a just and true account into the Registry of the Su-preme Court of Newfoundland, when you shall be lawfully called thereto : And you shall further swear that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattles, Assets, Credits and Effects of the said Thomas Glen---------------------------- Deceased, and of which     he    ---    died possessed, do not, according to the best of your knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of    -------------------- Six thousand-------------------- Dollars.

                    My Dear Sirs

          In appointing you my Executors I feel assured you will kindly act in that capacity, until you settle my afa?irs with my son, Alexander Glen , to whom I leave all I may possess , at my death , that is to say , my lands & property situated at Bay Bulls . district of Ferryland and my money . I may have, at my credit in the Union Bank , of this city .

          You will please pay my funeral expenses out of the money I may have in the Union Bank , and all lawful claims against me.

          Mefsr. Little and Kent know all about, my Bay Bulls property, it is worth, about Five hundred pounds stirling in my opinion

That the paperwriting Marked A hereunto annexed is altogether In the proper handwriting of the said Thomas Glen -- and that the signature "Thos Glen" thereto appended is in the Proper handwriting of the said late ThomasGlen

The Petition of James Oliphant Fraser of St Johns in the Island aforesaid ??? Master General

Humbly Sheweth

          That Thomas Glen late of St Johns afore-said Auditor of the Public Accounts---------- departed this life on or about the twenty eighth day of April last past having previously made his last will and Testament which has been duly proved and is hereto annexed--in which he appointed your petitioner Executor
          That the said deceased was at the time of his death possessed of property of the probable value of six thousand dollars
          That no probate to the said will or letters of administration to the said estate has Been taken out or applied for.
          Your petitioner therefore prays that Probate of the said Will be granted to him.
          And as in duty bound he will ever pray
          St Johns May 11th AD 1887

                    James Oliphant Fraser of St Johns aforesaid Post Master General maketh oath and saith that he has been well acquainted with the late Thomas Glen for a period of time extending over twenty years that at the time of the paperwriting marked respectively A and B hereto annexed being written and signed by the said Thomas Glen he was of sound mind and understanding to the best of this deponents knowledge and belief -- and that the statements made by this deponent in the petition marked D hereto annexed are just and true in every particular to the best of this deponents knowledge and belief
