AFFIDAVIT. You shall swear that you believe this to be the true last Will and Testament of Jane Spracklin, late of Brigus in the Northern District of Newfoundland, Widow, deceased. So help you God. Sworn before me, at * Sworn before me at Brigus this 15th day of * Initials JW in left margin.
June 1888 Estate of Jane Spracklin Dated 18th December 1888. Probate granted to Richard Estate sworn under $850.00
This is the Last Will of Jane Spracklin, Widow of the late Samuel Spracklin, of Brigus, hereby revoking all of the Wills and all of the Testaments by me made. First. I give and bequeath unto my son Samuel Spracklin all my share of the water side premises home, stores, wharves, gardens, that came to me through my husband Samuel Spracklin also one Second Hand counterpane. Second. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Caroline Spracklin all my clothes, wearing apparel and New counterpane. Third. I give and bequeath unto my Grand Son Seamore Spracklin, son of Nathaniel Spracklin, my best feather bed and the sum of Five Pounds cy. Fourth. I give unto my Grand Daughter Jane, daughter of Samuel Spracklin, the sum of Five Pounds cy. Fifth. I give unto my Grand Son Moses Whelan, son of Caroline Whelan, the sum of five pounds cy. Sixth. I give unto my Grand Daughter, Daughter of William Spracklin, the sum of five pounds cy. Paage 2 Seventh. All my remaining property consisting of money and furniture, beds & bedding, land or any other goods - I wish to be equally (sic) devided (sic) between my sons Samuel, Azariah, William, Nathaniel and my daughter Caroline - share and share alike equal. Eighth. I hereby appoint Mr. Richard Spracklin and Mr. Henry Roberts to be Executors to this my Last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal at Brigus this twenty first day of June One Thousand and Eighty Seven.

In the Supreme Court Newfoundland William A. Green of Brigus, Trader, maketh oath and saith that on the *twenty first day of June 1887 he was present and saw Jane Spracklin, the within named Testatrix sign the paper writing herein written by making her mark as for her last Will and Testament, the same having been read over and explained to her and approved of by her, the said Testatix in the presence of this deponent and Ephraim Horwood, the other subscribing witness thereto. To the Honourable the Supreme Court The petition of Richard Spracklin of Brigus in Conception Bay, Newfoundland, Planter. Humbly Sheweth That Jane Spracklin, late of Brigus aforesaid, Widow, died in the month of September last having previously made her last Will and Testament hereto annexed, dated the twenty first day of June A.D. Eighteen Hundred and Eighty Seven of which she appointed your Petitioner and Henry Roberts Executors: that at the time of her decease, the said Jane Spracklin was possessed of or entitled to property in this Island Page 2 to an amount not exceeding in value the sum of Eight Hundred Dollars in the opinion and belief of your Petitioner: That no Letters of Administration have been ????? out to the said Estate, your Petitioner therefore prays that letters of Probate to this said Will may be granted to your Petitioner and the said Henry Roberts, the said Executors and as in duty bound will pray.
