Harbor Grace Re: Guardian, Children, late Dear Sir: Page 2 The Brothers very kindly relieve him from paying fees but his mother funds the books. I would say his allowance should be to $60.00. It may be said that at that rate of expenditures (their brother has ?? ???? me) the amounts will be reduced when they come of age but looking at the education they are receiving, I think it better in a good education to enable them to fight life's battles usefully and manfully than in a balance of a couple hundred dollars in a bank. And better for many within our recollection had they been put in the world properly educated to earn their bread than to have money of which they did not know the earning placed at their disposal when they reached manhood. In the Supreme Court In the matter of the Estate Upon reading the order made herein on June 6, 1890 and the letter from Andrew T. Drysdale, Guardian of the Estates of said Children hereto annexed and upon hearing W. Morison of Counsel for said children, I do order that the said Guardian do pay to Lucy Ann Green, mother of said children the following sums annually to be applied as follows, that is to say, to the support and education of Mary D. Green eighty dollars (2) Henrietta Green eighty dollars (3) Josephine Green eighty dollars (4) Thomas L. Green eighty dollars and (5) Andrew F. Green sixty dollars and that this order shall take effect from the 14th day of September 1890. Jos. J. Little

Supreme Court In the mater of the Estate of Upon reading the petition of Andrew T. Drysdale of Harbour Grace, Commissioner of Affidavits, praying for Letters of Guardianship of the estates of (1) Mary Drysdale Green aged nineteen years,
(2) Henrietta Green aged eighteen years, (3) Josephine aged fifteen years, (4) Thomas Lewis Green aged thirteen years and (5) Andrew Francis Green aged ten years, infant children of the late Thomas Green of Harbour Grace, Clerk of the Peace, deceased, and upon reading the affidavit in verification of said petition and upon hearing Mr. H. R. Hayward of Counsel for said Petitioner, I do order that Letters of Guardianship of the estates of the said infant children do issue to the said Andrerw T. Drysdale. Upon motion of Jos. J. Little

Supreme Court of Newfoundland Be it remembered that on this twenty sixth day of November in the fifty third year of the reign of our sovereign Lady Victoria by the grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith &c, and in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty nine Personally appeared Andrew T. Drysdale of Harbour Grace in the Northern District of Newfoundland, Commissioner of Affidavits, John Strappe of Harbour Grace, planter and John Hogan of the same place, victualler and did acknowledge themselves to be held and formally bound to Our said Lady the Queen, Her Heirs and Successors, in the Penal Sum of Three Thousand five hundred dollars of good and lawful money of Newfoundland to be had, made and levied on their Goods, Chattels and Effects jointly and severally if default is made in any of the conditions following: Now the Condition of this Obligation is such that if the above bounden Andrew T. Drysdale shall duly and faithfully act as Guardian of the Estates and Effects Page 2 of Mary Drysdale Green, Henrietta Green, Josephine Green, Thomas Lewis Green and Andrew Francis Green, children of Thomas Green late of Harbour Grace aforesaid, Clerk of the Peace, deceased, Minors under the age of twenty one years and shall and do pay and dispose of such Estates in such manner as the Court shall direct, then this obligation to be void and of no effect or else to be and remain in full force and virtue.
