Be it Remembered That on this 30th day of June in the 64th Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady Victoria, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith, &c, and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred personally appeared William H. Williams of Bay Bulls, Planter, James Brien of St. Johns, Dealer, and Patrick Kennedy of same place, Tailor, and did acknowledge themselves to be held and firmly bound to our said Sovereign Lady the Queen, Her Heirs and Successors, in the penal Sum of Four Hundred dollars to be had, made and levied on their Goods, Chattels and Effects, jointly and severally, if Default is made in any of the conditions following :---

Now the Condition of this Obligation is such, that if the above bounden William H. Williams shall duly and faithfully act as Guardian of the Estate and Effects of Arthur Williams, Joseph Eric Williams, John Joseph Williams, and Thomas Ernest Williams, minors under the age of twenty-one years, and shall and do pay and dispose of such Estate in such manner as the said Court shall direct, then this obligation to be void and of no effect, or else to be and remain in full force and virtue.

In the Estate of Arthur, Jsoeph, John and Thomas Williams, infants, We, James Brien of St. Johns, Dealer, and Patrick Kennedy of same place, tailor
That we are the proposed sureties on behalf of William R. Williams, the intended guardian of all and singular the estate and effects, rights and credits, of Arthur, Joseph, John & Thomas Williams, infants, in the within bond named, for the faithful guardianship of the said estate and effects, rights and credits, of the said deceased; and I the said James Brien for myself make oath and say that I am worth property to the amount of Four hundred dollars, over and above all encumbrances and over and above what will pay my just debts, and every other sum for which I am now bail, or for which I am liable as surety or endorser or otherwise, and I the said Patrick Kennedy for myself, make oath and say, that I am worth property to the amount of Four hundred dollars, over and above what will pay my just debts, and every other sum for which I am now bail and for which I am liable as surety or endorser or otherwise.

To the Honorable Supreme Court
or to one of the Honorable Judges thereof.

The petition of William H. Williams of Bay Bulls, planter,

Humbly Sheweth

  1. That Joseph Delahunty, late of Ferryland, deceased, died at that place on or about the          day of 1899 intestate.
  2. That Anne Williams, formerly Anne Delahunty, the wife of your petitioner, was the daughter of the said Joseph Delahunty.
  3. That the said Anne Williams, predeceased her father, the said Joseph Delahunty, leaving her surviving the following children, namely:
    Arthur Roland Williams aged nine years
    Joseph Eric Williams aged eight years
    John Joseph Williams aged six years
    Thomas Ernest Williams aged four years
  4. That the said children or your petitioners and the said Anne Williams are entitled to a share of the estate of the said Joseph Delahunty, deceased, of the probable value of two hundred dollars, which is payable in each but the amount of which is not yet accurately ascertained.

          Your petitioner therefore prays that he may be appointed guardian of the estates of the said children and as in duty bound he will ever pray &c &c &c.
