In re DECEASED.
WILLIAM ESDAILE.
THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me WILLIAM ESDAILE of Barry
Lodge Mays Hill Road Shortlands Kent Gentleman.
- I hereby revoke all other wills and testamentary dispositions
at any time heretofore executed by me.
- I appoint James Johnston of The Banks
Tundergarth Leckertis and James
Richardson Glass of
Thistlebeen Monahan Avenue Purley EXECUTORS AND TRUSTEES of this
my will.
- I give the following pecuniary and specific legacies
free of duty videlicet
(a) My piano piano steel music cabinet and all music rolls to my
late wifes niece Dorothy daughter of Thomas Hedley.
(b) one hundred pounds each to Ethel Lily Dorothy and Alice
daughters of Andrew Glass.
(c) Fifty pounds each to Chrissie and Polly daughters of
Robert Glass.
(d) To my housekeeper Katherine Carruthers the sum of two
hundred pounds.
(e) Two hundred and fifty pounds to James Richardson
Glass (beneficially) and also my gold watch and chain and
appendages.
(f) fifty pounds to Maggie wife of Bert Hedley.
- I
give the sum of one thousand pounds to my executors and trustees
upon trust to invest the same and to pay or apply the income thereof
in such manner as in their absolute and uncontrolled discretion they
may deem advisable for or towards the maintenance of my sister Margaret
(Maggie) Esdaile and I direct that all duties payable in
respect of this bequest shall be borne and paid by my residuary estate
and upon the decease of my said sister this fund shall fall into
and form part of my residuary estate.
- I give the residue of my
estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever unto my executors and
trustees upon trust to sell call in and convert the same into money
and to pay and divide the net proceeds thereof unto and equally between
my brother Thomas Esdaile and my sister Elizabeth
Johnston.
- I declare that if my said brother shall predecease
me the share of
residue given to him shall be divided equally between such of his
children who shall survive me and shall attain or shall have attained
the age of twenty one years and if my said sister Elizabeth
Johnston shall predecease me then the share of residue given to her shall
be paid to her husband the said James Johnston for his absolute and
beneficial use.
AS WITNESS my hand this 13th day of July one thousand nine hundred
and twenty eight - W ESDAILE - Signed by the testator William
Esdaile as his last will and testament in the presence of us both present at
the same time who in his presence at his request and in the presence
of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses
