Will of James Fudge from Newfoundland will books volume 15 page 507 probate year 1931

IN RE                    DECEASED.
James Fudge

This is the last Will and Testament of James Fudge of Salt Harbour, Herring Neck, in the Northern District of the Island of Newfoundland.
I James Fudge being of sound disposing mind and memory and understanding do hereby will devise and bequeath as follows;

  1. Unto my two sons Dorman and Herbert the chains, sails, anchors, and other gear belonging to the Schr, "Sweet Hope" share and share alike.
  2. Unto my two sons namely John and George two thirds of the two cod traps with moorings and fittings complete motor boat and engine, and daughter in law Alfreda Fudge widow of my son Edwin and her children the remaining third of the two Cod Traps moorings motor boat and engine.
  3. Unto my son George my dwelling house and furniture.
  4. Unto my son George all the land in connection with my dwelling house, also the fishing room including stores, stage and flake, also the land on the North side of Salt Hr. known as Blandfords land consisting of Wharf, stores etc.
  5. Unto my son John the land he now occupies in Starve Harbour, Herring Neck.
  6. Unto my two sons Herbert and John and my three daughters Phoebe wife of George Hibbs of Kelligrews, Dora widow of Charles Murwell of Herring Neck and Ida wife of Charles Hussey of Herring Neck, all the money left in the bank after my burial expenses, headstone erected , and probate expenses are taken there from, to share and share alike.
  7. Unto Clementine Fudge wife of George Fudge any monies left in the house at my death, also any monies due me at the office of the firm of Geo. J. Carter Herring Neck.
  8. I nominate constitute and appoint Mr. Frank S. Lockyer and Mr. Joseph White of Herring Neck as the executors of this my last will and testament and do at the same time revoke all former wills, testaments and distributions of my said estate and do declare this paper writing to be my last will and testament.
  9. Dated at Herring Neck aforesaid this 2nd October in the year of Our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twenty eight
