In re
Emma Garreau deceased.
In the name of God Amen I Emma
Garreau of Brig Bay, North - West Newfoundland, widow of the late Louis
Garreau, being sound of mind, but knowing that it is appointed unto all
once to die, do hereby make this my last will and Testament. -
First
it is my will that all my funeral expenses or other lawful debts I may
have contracted be paid out of my estate as soon as possible after my
demise. -
Secondly I will and bequeath to the church the sum
of two hundred and fifty dollars ($250.00) to be applied equally in masses
for the repose of my soul, and for the soul of my late husband Louis
Garreau. -
Thirdly I will and bequeath to my dear grandchild
Emma Rumbolt, daughter of John and Aggie Rumbolt the
sum twenty five dollars ($25.00) as a mark of my special esteem and affection.
The residue or remainder of all my estate, real personal and mixed of
which I may die possessed. I will devise and bequeath unreservedly to
my well beloved son John F. Garreau of Brig Bay.
And
lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint the Rev. M O’Rourke Parish priest of Bonne
Bay to be executor of this my last will and Testament or in default of
him at the time of my death - I do appoint in his stead John
Kennedy of Bird Cove and John Rumbolt Jr of New Ferrole. - And I do hereby declare
this to be my last will and Testament. In witness whereof I hereunto
set my hand and seal this third day of August in the year of our Lord
one thousand nine hundred and seven. Emma Her x mark Garreau (LS) Signed sealed published and declared by the said Emma

for her last will and Testament in the presence of us who at her request
and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names
as witnesses to the due execution thereof. Ambrose Kennedy James His x mark Lawless.
