Will of Elizabeth Grubert from Newfoundland will books volume 5 page 487-488 probate year 1890 Last will and testament This is the last will and testament of me Elizabeth Grubert, spinster, Harbour Grace, being of sound disposing mind memory and understanding. First, I give devise and bequeath unto my brother John Grubert and his heirs and assigns all my interest in and to that dwelling house situate on Harvey Street recently purchased by me and my sister Catherine Grubert from James Wall of Harbor Grace on condition that the said John Grubert and his heirs use said dwelling house for my sister Catherine's support, but she said sister Catherine must live with my brother John and his family after my death, and have no power to dispose of said house without my said brother's consent. Also I give and bequeath unto my said brother John Grubert the sum of (ten pounds) forty dollars to be paid to James Wall in payment of part of the balance still due on said dwelling house. Also the sum of forty dollars to be paid to John Higgins as rent for one half year. Also forty dollars to defray my funeral expenses, also the residue of my money if not needed to supply my personal wants to liquidate any little bills that I may owe should these bills be unpaid Lastly I appoint said John Grubert sole executor to this my last will and testament revoking all former wills by me at any time heretofore made. In witness whereof I have here signed my name at Harbor Grace this 19th October 1889. Elizabeth her x mark Grubert. Signed by the said testatrix as and for her last will and testament in her presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses hereunto Michael Scully John Grubert I do hereby certify that the annexed paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of the late Elizabeth Grubert spinster deceased was duly proven by the affidavit of John Grubert one of the subscribing witnesses thereto at Harbor Grace this thirteenth day of January A.D. 1890 at 11:30 o'clock A. D. Andrew T. Drysdale Commissioner of Affidavits Supreme Court.
