Will of Mary Ann Haly
from Newfoundland will books volume 8 pages 450-451 probate year 1908

In re
      Mary Ann Haly           deceased.

      My Last will and Testament It is my wish & desire that after payment to my Daughter Theresa Bannister Bartlett or to her Trustee or Trustees or heir of the sum of Two thousand two hundred & eighty nine pounds settled upon her on her marriage & on her children by that marriage with the Rev’d Arthur Toms Bartlett (of whom Mary Louisa is the only survivor) and after payment of the sum of one thousand pounds to my Son George Standish Haly (he having already received some other portion) & after payment also of my dear deceased Daughter Amelia Ann Haly’s Legacies to Hospitals (the small personal legacies having already been paid by me) & after further payment as by her will directed of all my just debts the residue of any sum or sums belonging to me or to become due hereafter standing in the names of my Trustees the late General William O’Grady Haly & the Rev’d John Philip Tomlinson according to my marriage Settlement shall be equally divided between my said son George Standish Haly & my said Daughter Theresa Bannister Bartlett or their heirs or heir.

And with regard to my personal property I leave such of my plate or plated goods as are marked with the family crest (a mermaid) to my son & the remainder to my said Daughter Theresa B. Bartlett & my furniture, china and other household goods to be divided between them according to my private memorandum with the exception of a few specified gifts in it and any profits that may accrue after my death by the sale or publication of any of my MSS.(?), I leave to be divided among my surviving Grandchildren & to each & all I leave my blessing - July 9th 1885 - Mary Ann Haly (LS)    June 1st 1887 - Mary Ann Haly (LS)     signed again before witnesses
