Will of Richard Hanley
from Newfoundland will books volume 6 page 275 probate year 1896

Last Will and Testament of
Richard Hanley of St. John's
Assistant storekeeper in H.M. customs
deceased.

      This is the last will and Testament of me Richard Hanley at present of St. John's painter made this 20th day of February A.D. 1894. I devise and bequeath to my son Philip Hanley my interest on that portion of land held by me situate on Kings Road and unbuilt on and being a portion of the plot leased by me in consideration of his maintaining my son Richard and paying half the ground rent at present paid by me for the whole of the said plot. I desire and bequeath that house situate off Kings Road on the other portion of the said piece of land in course of erection to my two children Richard and Martha after the death of my wife during the life of my wife the rent arising out of the same is to be devoted to the support of my wife. I appoint Hon. Mr. Jas P. Fox Executor of this my will. (Sgd) Richd. Hanley. Signed by the Testator in our presence and in the presence of each other. (Sgd) Philip Hanley. (Sgd) E. P. Morris.

      I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and Testament of Richard Hanley deceased
