In re
      James Hasey deceased.

In the name of God Amen.     I James Hassey of Saint John’s Victualler being of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding do make ordain and publish the following as and for my last will and testament in manner following that is to say-    After the payment of all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses I will and bequeath my lands chattels moneys and effects as follows that is to say-    1^st I will and bequeath to my executors hereinafter named all my lands moneys chattels and effects (save as hereinafter excepted) in trust to have and to hold the same for the use and benefit maintenance and support of my son William during his minority and on his attaining the full age of twenty one years I will and direct my executors to pay over and transfer the said lands capital moneys and profits thereof and effects to my said son for his sole use and benefit.    In the event of the death of my said son William before attaining full age as aforesaid I will and direct my executors to pay the sum of twenty pounds to and toward the Orphanage of St. Michael’s at Belvidere in this city and to divide the residue of my said lands moneys and chattels as follows that is one half to the children of my sister Anne Butler deceased late of Carrickbeg Waterford Ireland deceased and the other half thereof to Patrick Quinn my adopted son-    to my said adopted son Patrick Quinn I will and bequeath the sum of two hundred pounds currency out of any debts that are or may be due and owing to me- but in the event of these being insufficient to make up said amount my executors shall make up the deficiency from any moneys I may have on deposit at any bank in Saint John’s-     I will and bequeath the sum of five pounds to the Roman Catholic Bishop of Saint John’s for the celebration of Masses for the repose of my soul and the souls of deceased members of my family If my said adopted son should desire to carry on business as Victualler I desire that my executors will permit him the use of the shop and premises now occupied by me until my said son shall attain full age as aforesaid and no longer

I nominate and appoint Edward Maher of Saint John’s shopkeeper and Joseph I. Little of same place Barrister at law executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking and annulling all former and other wills made by me.     Dated this 14^th January 1881.    James Hasey.     Witness J.I.
