Will of William Haynes Senior from Newfoundland will books volume 15 pages 536-537 probate year 1931

IN RE                   DECEASED.

THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me, William Haynes Sr. of Catalina, Newfoundland, General Dealer.

  1. I revoke all former wills by me at any time made and declare this to be my last will and testament.
  2. I appoint my son, Robert Haynes, and my grandson, William Haynes of Albert executors of this my will.
  3. I bequeath my waterside property at Catalina to my three sons Albert, Edwin and Robert in equal parts share and share alike.
  4. I bequeath to my son, Albert Haynes, the dwelling house now occupied by him for his sole use and benefit forever.
  5. I bequeath to my son, Edwin Haynes, the dwelling house now occupied by him for his sole use and benefit for ever.
  6. I bequeath to my sons, Albert and Edwin Haynes, the small front garden in front of the houses hereinbefore bequeathed to them for their joint use and benefit for ever.
  7. I bequeath the dwelling house and small shop and the garden, all of which have been occupied by me to my said wife during her lifetime and upon her death to my son, Robert Haynes.
  8. I bequeath my household furniture and shop goods contained in the shop in my said house to my said wife for her lifetime and upon her death to her son, Robert Haynes.
  9. I bequeath my back land and cellar to my three sons, Albert, Edwin and Robert.
  10. I bequeath whatever money I die possessed of to my said wife for her life time and upon her death to Muriel Bursey, Caroline Coady, Eva Gillard and Eva Newman.
  11. I bequeath my organ, organ stool and Morris chair to Eva Gillard.
  12. William Haynes Jr. is to have one half of my business under agreement made with him and the remaining half of my said business I bequeath to Gerald Haynes, son of my son, Edwin Haynes.
  13. All my debts, funeral and testamentary expenses are to be paid out of any money of which I may die possessed.
  14. The residue of my estate I bequeath to my wife for her lifetime and upon her death to my sons and daughters living at the time of the death of my said wife.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto subscribed my hand at      this 18th day of April A.D. 1929.

SIGNED PUBLISHED AND DECLARED by the said testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us, who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.

Codicil to the will of William Haynes Senr.
I revoke clause No. 12. and instead of one half of my business being bequeathed to William Haynes Jr. I bequeath one half of my business to my son Robert Haynes instead. The other half to my grandson Gerald Haynes.
I bequeath to my son Adam Haynes the waterside premises of the late Thomas Hiscock together with property bounded on NE of "The Shop," with all the buildings thereon.
I bequeath to my son Robert and to my grandson Gerald the Shop Building and Land on which it stands to be equally divided or share and share alike.
I revoke claud clause No. 2. and appoint Robert Haynes my sole executor.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal at Catalina this 2nd day of February 1931.
