In re       DECEASED.
      LEVI HICKS.

This is the last will and testament of me Levi Hicks of Doating Cove in the island of Newfoundland, Fisherman.

1. I hereby revoke all former wills by me at any time made and declare this to be my last will and testament.
2. I hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my wife Mary Ann Hicks, Willis Abbott, and Francis Whiteway all of Doating Cove and Musgrave Harbour to be the executors and trustees of this my last will and testament.
3. All the property of whatsoever nature and kind and wherever situate of which I may die possessed I give devise and bequeath to the said executors in trust for the following purposes.
   (a) To wind up my business affairs, pay my debts if any, funeral and testamentary expenses.
   (b) To permit my said wife to have the full use benefit and profit and control of all my lands and houses and household furniture and all property belonging to me of every description wheresoever situate or found until her death, and on the death of my said wife the surviving executors or executor to suitably provide for her interment including toom stone.
   ( c) If my said wife shall predecease me, or otherwise after her death, I direct my then surviving executors or executor to deal with my estate as follows.

1. To receive each of them for their trouble two per centrum of all money which shall pass through their hands after my wifes death.
2. At the expense of my estate to execute and cause to be delivered to Frank Abbott a deed of conveyance to him his executors and administrators of all my said house and lands together with all furniture therein belonging to my estate, on condition only that the said Frank Abbott and his father Charles Abbott and Luke Abbott, properly looks after and cares for my said wife as long as she lives.
3. To pay to the said Frank Abbott and his father Charles Abbott and Luke Abbott in equal shares one half of whatever money is not expended after my wifes death.
4. To pay to Alexander Hicks, Aubrey Hicks, Wilfred Hicks, Mrs Samson Russell, Mrs Fanny Abbott, Sarah Soper, Mrs Jane Bradley, Mrs Martha James Whiteway, Mrs N.R. Whiteway, Samson Hicks of Doating Cove, Fred Bradley, Allison Russell, Charles Hicks of Carmanville, the other half of money all in equal shares.
5. If for any reason the said Frank Abbott and his father Charles Abbott and the said Luke Abbott fails to properly look after and care for my said wife as long as she lives, they or any one of them so failing to look after and care for her, shall have no claim or interest in my estate.
