Will of Henry Elias Hodder from Newfoundland will books volume 15 page 36 probate year 1929

IN RE                              DECEASED.

HENRY ELIAS HODDER.

I, Henry Elias Hodder, of Creston, Newfoundland, Retired Planter hereby make MY LAST WILL TESTAMENT.

On my death I leave all my property at Creston, including dwelling house, furniture, stores, stable and land to my beloved wife, Mary Hodder, for her use during her lifetime and after her death to my granddaughter Norma Hodder and to Albert Hodder of Creston in equal shares. The said Albert Hodder to have the option of purchasing the share of Norma Hodder at a price to be agreed upon with my executors.

I bequeath to my said wife Mary Hodder monies which may be in the Royal Bank of Canada in Placentia to be hers exclusively. I bequeath all my investments in the Newfoundland College of the United Church and in the George Street United Church unto the Eastern Trust Company as trustee, to pay the income therefrom to my wife for her use during her lifetime and on her death to pay the said income to my said granddaughter Norma Hodder until she attains her majority, on her attaining her majority, I instruct my trustee to pass over to her these investments which will then become her property absolutely.

In the event of the death of my grand-daughter, Norma Hodder, before she shall have attained her majority I instruct my trustee to turn these investments into cash and to pay therefrom as follows: To Bridget Hodder Henry Elias Hodder Jr. and the United Church at Creston, the sum of two hundred dollars ($200.00) each and to the Newfoundland College of the United Church the sum of one hundred dollars. ($100.00).

After paying these specified bequests the balance to be divided between my next of kin then living other than Bridget Hodder and Henry Elias Hodder, Jr. who are already provided for by the preceding section. It is my wish that these investments remain as they are. In the event of the parties interested wishing to pay off the investments, the proceeds are to be invested by my trustee in approved "trustee Securities".

I hereby appoint The Eastern Trust Company and Mr. Joseph Peters to be my executors.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 5th day of July 1927.
