Will of John Joy from Newfoundland will books volume 5 page 161 probate year 1887

Last will and Testament of
John Joy of Holyrood, Conception Bay, Planter.

On the sixteen of Feb one thousand eight hundred and eighty seven. I John Joy of Holyrood Conception Bay in the Island of Newfoundland do make this my last will and Testament.
Firstly I give and bequeath to my son Walter Joy the water side premises from his present stage and from my son John's new flake to Barrets and all the land that he holds in his (Walter Joy) pession at present
second I give and bequeath to my son John Joy the remainder of my land and waterside and also my inside farm. - I will that west part of my land called Torgates place to my grandsons Richard and Walter (sons of John)
I will and bequeath my money in the following manner. -
I will and bequeath to my daughter Mary Duggan £25
I will and bequeath to my daughter Ellen Veitch £25.
I will and bequeath to my daughter Bridget Mary £ 25
I will and bequeath to my son James Joy £25
I will and bequeath to Rev. G. Ballcock £5 for ten masses for myself fpr to have masses for myself
I will and bequeath to Rev. D. O'Donnell £5 for masses for myself and wife.
I will and bequeath £5 for High Masses for myself.
I will and bequeath to my son John Joy £130 more or less.
I will and bequeath to my grandson Walter of John my bed and bedstead. -
I appoint John Veitch and Philip Mullowney both of Holyrood to be my executors. - Given under my hand and seal the day and year above written. - Signed. John his x mark Joy (LS) Signed sealed and delivered in presence of us. - Michael Rourke. Cornelius Kennedy. - Witness.
