Will of William Lockyer from Newfoundland will books volume 15 page 564 probate year 1932

IN RE          DECEASED.
William Lockyer

THIS is the last will and testament of me William Lockyer of Trinity shopkeeper.

  1. I appoint Frank S. Lockyer of Herring Neck Mercantile Agent and Samuel D. Grant of Trinity Mercantile Agent executors of this my will.
  2. I direct my executors to invest my estate or the proceeds thereof and to pay the income thereof to my daughter Stella E. Lockyer while she shall live and remain unmarried. On the marriage of my said daughter Stella, if my daughter Blanche Grant shall then be living, two thirds of the capital of my estate then remaining shall go to my said daughter Stella absolutely and one third to my said daughter Blanche Grant absolutely but if my said daughter Blanche Grant shall not then be living, then the whole of the capital shall go to my said daughter Stella absolutely.
  3. If my said daughter Stella shall not marry then on her death all the capital of my estate shall go absolutely to my daughter Blanche Grant if she shall then be living; but if my said daughter Blanche Grant shall not then be living, then to her children if any, then living, in equal shares; or if only one to that one.
  4. I give my executors the following powers;
    1. To expend all or any portion of the capital of my estate from time to time for the proper support and care of my said daughter Stella E. Lockyer (including provision of any necessary or advisable medical treatment) if the income shall be insufficient; or if in the opinion of my executors it shall be necessary or advisable to do so.
    2. To invest any portion of my estate upon the security of mortgages of landed property in or near Saint John's.

Witness my hand at Trinity this day of June 4th 1926 Anno Domini one thousand nine hundred and twenty six.

SIGNED PUBLISHED AND DECLARED by the said testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other (all present at the same time) have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
