Will of Patrick Joseph MacDonald from Newfoundland will books volume 14 page 134 probate year 1927

In re
      PATRICK JOSEPH MACDONALD.       DECEASED.

I, Patrick Joseph MacDonald of Portugal Cove Road in the Electoral District of St. John's Eastern Division in the Island of Newfoundland, farmer, hereby revoke all former wills codicils and testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me and declare this to be my last will and testament.

  1. I appoint my son Alexander McDonald to be the Executor of this my will.
  2. I direct my Executor to pay all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses.
  3. I further direct my Executor to erect a suitable headstone to my grave and place a suitable railing around my grave.
  4. I give and devise and bequeath all my land situate on the Portugal Cove Road aforesaid together with the dwelling house and outhouses and all other erections thereon and all the household furniture and effects therein contained unto my wife Fannie McDonald for and during the term of her natural life.
  5. After the death of my said wife Fannie McDonald I give devise and bequeath all my said land, property and effects mentioned in paragraph 4 hereof unto my two sons Alexander McDonald and Stanley McDonald and my daughter Elizabeth McDonald absolutely share and share alike provided that the shares of the said Elizabeth McDonald shall include the dwelling house and outhouses now erected on my said land and that my daughter Clara McDonald shall have a home in my said dwelling house while she remains unmarried.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand at St. John's aforesaid this first day of August A.D. one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven.

Signed Published and Declared by the said testator by making his mark as and for his last will and testament in our presence who in his presence at his request all three being present at the same time, have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses, the said last will and testament consisting of two pages first having been read over and explained in our presence to the said testator.
