Will of Frederick Maher from Newfoundland will books volume 14 page 98 probate year 1927

In re
      FREDERICK MAHER.       DECEASED.

In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, Amen. I, Frederick Maher, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, and mindful of the uncertainty of human affairs, do hereby make this my last Will and Testament.

  1. I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid.
  2. To my beloved wife, Bridget, her heirs and assigns forever, I give devise and bequeath one third of all property, real, personal or mixed whatsoever or wheresoever situated of which I may die possessed.
  3. To my brother-in-law, Matthew White I forgive any debt of money loaned or advanced by me and direct that any note or notes evidencing such debt be cancelled and destroyed.
  4. To my sister, Christina, now Mrs Matthew White I bequeath $200.00.
  5. To my sister, Rosa, now Mrs Harris Gates, I bequeath $500.00.
  6. To my sister, Sarah, now Mrs William Murphy, I bequeath $500.00.
  7. To the Belvidere Orphanage of St. John's, Newfoundland, I bequeath $500.00
  8. To Mount Cashel Orphanage of St. John's, Newfoundland, I bequeath $500.00
  9. To the Pastor of St. Patrick's Church St. John's, Newfoundland, I bequeath $500.00, beseeching him to use $200.00 as a fund for anniversary Masses for the repose of my soul and the balance of $300.00 for Masses for the repose of my soul to be said by himself or others within two years after my death.
  10. All the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, real, personal or mixed, whatsoever or wheresoever situated I give devise and bequeath to my brother John, his heirs and assigns forever.
  11. I hereby nominate constitute and appoint my brother, John, Executor of this my will.

In witness whereof I set my hand and seal, this 26th day of July Nineteen hundred and twenty Seven.

Signed, sealed, published and declared as and for his last Will and Testament by the said Testator in our presence whereupon we, at his request, in his presence and in the presence of each other signed our names as witnesses thereto, the day and year above written.
