Will of Henry T. McCoubrey
from Newfoundland will books volume 8 pages 380-381 probate year 1908

In re
      Henry T. McCoubrey          deceased.

      This is the last will and Testament of me, Henry T. McCoubrey of Saint John’s, Manager of the Standard Manufacturing Company Ltd.
1. I appoint my wife, Catherine McCoubrey, and Marmaduke G. Winter of Saint John’s, Merchant, Executors of this my will.
2. I give, devise, and bequeath to my said Executors all my property, estate and effects of every description upon trust to invest the same and to pay the income thereof to my said wife during her life and while she shall remain unmarried, for her support and maintenance, and for the support, maintenance and education of my children while they shall need it. Should she remarry, the income of my estate shall be divided equally among her and my then surviving children (all sharing alike) while she shall live.
3. On the death of my said wife the capital of my estate shall be divided equally among my children; the children (if any) of any child dying in the meantime taking their parents share.
4 I direct that my Executors on my death surrender the two Life Insurance Policies on the life of my brother James McCoubrey which I hold, and take the surrender value in cash.
5. My Executors may, in their discretion, retain any of the investments or properties which I hold at the date of my death, (save the two Life Policies mentioned in paragraph 4 hereof); may permit my wife and children while they live together to use my household furniture instead of realizing the same; may invest the proceeds of my estate or any part thereof upon the security of mortgages upon landed property; may, if they consider it necessary, or advisable for the education or maintenance of either or any of my children, advance to or for the use of such child or children a portion (in their discretion) of the capital of my estate, - such advance to be charged against such child or children on final distribution.
6 I give my Gold watch and chain to my eldest son living at my death
Witness my hand at Saint Johns’ aforesaid this 18th day of June A.D. 1907. Henry T. McCoubrey. Signed Published and Declared by the said Testator as and for his last will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other (all present at the same time) have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.    James McCoubrey     W.O.D’Kelly June 18/07
