Last will and Testament
of Richard Meagher late of
St. John's locker in H. M. C. Deceased

In the name of God Amen. I Richard Meagher of St. John's in the Island of Newfoundland Locker in His Majesty's Customs, do make publish and declare this to be my last will and Testament and I hereby annul all former wills or testaments by me made or executed. I give devise and bequeath unto my daughter Ann Meagher the house I now live in situate on the east side of Cochrane Street in St. John's afsd. together with the garden and land attached free from the control of any husband she may have subject to the condition that she my said daughter Anne shall support clothe and maintain my wife Anne Meagher in a comfortable and respectable manner during her lifetime. And on the above condition I give devise and bequeath unto my said daughter Anne Meagher all and whatever money I may die possessed of either in the Newfoundland Savings Bank or elsewhere free from the control of any husband she may have. And on the aforementioned I give devise and bequeath unto my said daughter Anne Meagher all my household furniture of every description soever together with all other property I may die possessed of, free from the control of any husband she may have. In case of the death of my said wife Anne Meagher all the money then remaining house garden, land, household furniture and other property to become the property of my said daughter Anne Meagher for her sole use and benefit free from the control of any husband she may have. I hereby nominate and appoint my said daughter Anne Meagher sole executrix of this my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto my hand and seal subscribed and set at St. John's afsd. this tenth day of September A.D. 1880. Richard Meagher (L.S.) Signed sealed published and declared by the said Richard Meagher as and for his last will and Testament in our presence and in presence of each other, who have at her request in his presence and in the presence of each other subscribed our names as witnesses hereto.
