Last Will of Ellen Merrigan late of
St. John's, Widow, deceased.

      In the name of God. Amen. This is the last will and Testament of me Ellen Merrigan of Saint John's Widow I will and bequeath to the Parish Priests at St. Patricks and the Cathedral of St. John's the sum of twenty pounds for the celebration of masses for the repose of my soul that of my late husband Jeremiah and that of my children Ellen and James
I will and bequeath my bedstead and box to my grandson Jeremiah to be given to him on his attaining full age
All the rest residue and remainder of my goods chattels & effects I will and bequeath in even and equal parts to and between my daughters Catherine Sutton Mary Ducane my son Thomas and my grandson Jeremiah the share of the latter to vest in him on his attaining full age and not before In the event of my said son Thomas not returning to this Island or being heard from within the next four years his share shall go to and be divided among my said daughters and grandson
I appoint my son in law James Sutton as executor hereof
