Will of Catherine Miles
from Newfoundland will books volume 13 pages 378-379 probate year 1926

In re
      CATHERINE MILES.     DECEASED.

I, Catherine Miles of Open Hall Newfoundland, being of sound mind do hereby make this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills heretofore at any time by me made.

I hereby appoint Samuel Aylmer Dawson, or, whosoever he shall appoint in his place to be the Executor of my Will.

I hereby direct the said executor to pay my funeral and Testamentary and legal expenses. Also to purchase a suitable memorial to be erected in the Cemetery at my grave, not exceeding One Hundred Dollars. ($100)

I hereby bequeath to my widowed sisters Elizabeth Quinton and Mary Quinton the amount of one hundred dollars. ($100) each.

I hereby bequeath to my sister Hannah Warren ($50) fifty dollars. and to her son, James Warren fifty dollars ($50) These to be first payments aforesaid.

I hereby bequeath to my niece Selina Quinton, fifty dollars ($50). And I hereby bequeath to my adopted daughter, Mary Kate, Quinton. two hundred dollars ($200) and the residue of any of my estate.

I also direct if possible that at my decease a fitting brass memorial be erected in the Church of St. Michael and All Angels. Redcliffe, in memory of my deceased husband and myself of not exceeding Fifty Dollars.

In Witness Whereof I have set my hand this Seventh day of January. One thousand nine hundred and twenty-two.

      I Catherine Miles of Open-Hall-Newfoundland. do hereby give devise and bequeath in addition to bequests made in my Will annexed; To Rosina Hobbs. my sister residing at Redcliffe. Fifty Dollars ($50) also to my brother John Batt. of Open-Hall. Fifty Dollars ($50) This to be a codicil and addition to my Will here annexed.

Signed and delivered as a Codicil to my Will. Dated. Seventh day of January. One thousand nine hundred and twenty-two & signed the fourth of August 1922.

We hereby witness to signature of said Catherine Miles as Codicil & Addition to her Will as annexed after having first been read, in our presence:
