In re
     Joseph Miller      deceased.

In the name of God Amen, I Joseph Miller of New Bonaventure in the Island of Newfoundland being of sound and disposing mind and memory blessed be God for all his mercies, but being mindful of my latter and I make this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills made by me.
First I bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God and pray that he will deal mercifully with it.
Secondly, I bequeath and give my dwelling house to my son Solomon on condition that he allows his brother Samuel to live with him in it as long as it is agreeable to him to do so.
Thirdly I give and bequeath all my landed property of whatsoever description to be divided amongst my four sons Samuel Miller, Abraham Miller, Jonathan Miller and Solomon Miller share and share alike.
Forthly, I give and bequeath the interest of my money in England towards supporting my son Solomon if I should not live to see him arrive at sufficient age to maintain himself and at my son Solomon's arriving at the age of twenty one years the principal sum is to be divided equally amongst all my children viz, Jacob, Samuel, Abraham, Jonathan and Solomon, Amy married to William King, Sarah married to James Toop, Elizabeth and Rachel unmarried, or to such of them as may be alive at the time of my said son Solomons arriving at the said age of twenty one years.
Fifthly, I give and bequeath to my son Solomon the silver tea spoons and to my sons Solomon and Jonathan all my wearing apparel.
Sixthly I give and bequeath my fishing room to my four sons Samuel, Abraham, Jonathan & Solomon share and share alike, and if they cannot agree to live together in the house with Samuel and Solomon, they are to assist each other in building houses and if either of them go off the room to settle he is to be assisted by his brothers, but he is not to return to the Room except by mutual consent, and my daughters Elizabeth and Rachel are to be maintained and taken care of on the premises until they may please to go away.
Seventhly, I give and bequeath all the money that may be remaining in the house or that may be owing to me after my just debts and funeral expenses are paid to be divided between Jonathan and Solomon.
Eighthly, I give and bequeath the residue of my goods and chattels to Samuel and Solomon.     And lastly, I do hereby appoint my two sons Samuel and Jonathan Miller to be my executors to this my last will and testament consigning my son Solomon to the guardianship of his brother Samuel.
I do hereby publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in testimony of which I have hereunto set my mark and seal this 24^th day of October 1843.
