from Newfoundland will books volume 6 pages 293-294 probate year 1896

Last Will and Testament of
Mary Murphy of Keels N.D.
Widow deceased.

      In the name of God Amen the 10th day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and seventy five. I Mary Murphy of Keels Bonavista Bay in the Northern district of the Island of Newfoundland being through the blessing of God in a sound state of mind and memory, but calling to mind the frail tenure of this life and that it is appointed to all once to die do make and ordain this my last will and Testament that is to say. I do give and bequeath and dispose of it in the following manner. First I do give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Ann Murphy my own right title and interest in one third of my deceased husbands estate situate at Keels and Sancroix.    Also I do give and bequeath to my said daughter Ann £350.0.0. cy now at interest in the Union Bank together with my seven cows & heifers one horse with all other goods and chattels belonging to me at Keels at the time of my decease.
I also do give and bequeath to my son John Murphy all my right title and interest in my aforesaid deceased husbands estate at St. John's Newfoundland situate on the Freshwater Road. And I do hereby annul make void and revoke an agreement made and signed between my son John and me, wherein he made over his right title and interest in my late deceased husbands estate to me and I do hereby utterly revoke and disannul every other will conforming to this and no other to be my last will and Testament (sgd) Mary Murphy (LS) Signed Sealed pronounced and declared in presence of us subscribers (sgd) Philip I. Levesconte J. P. (Sgd) M. Hanly c.c.

      I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and Testament of Mary Murphy deceased
