Will of Charles Norris, from Newfoundland will books volume 15 page 465 probate year 1931

IN RE.                         DECEASED

Charles Norris.

THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me Charles Norris of Pinchards Island in the Electoral District of Bonavista (North) in the Island of Newfoundland, Agent, made this 4th day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and thirty.
I hereby revoke all other wills or testamentary dispositions made by me at any time heretofore.
I appoint my wife Julia Ann Norris to be the sole Executrix of this my last will and testament.

  1. I direct that the amount of money borrowed on my Life Insurance be first paid out of my estate.
  2. I give and bequeath unto my four daughters, namely; Mrs Drucilla Green, Mrs Martha Davis, Mrs Amelia Gill and Miss Violet Norris the sum of FIFTY DOLLARS each.
  3. I give unto my wife Julia Ann Norris, my dwelling house and all my furniture, beds and bedding and also my shop building together with the contents of the same (apart from any goods therein belonging to Messrs E and S. Barbour) to have and occupy during her natural life.
  4. I also give unto my wife Julia Ann Norris, the balance of my Life Insurance, after paying the amount borrowed on the same as mentioned in clause one of this will, together with the residue of my estate (if any)
  5. If Walter Gill and Amelia Gill do and shall look after my wife and see that she is well provided for, according to their means, during her lifetime, at her decease they the said Walter Gill and Amelia Gill are to have my dwelling house, my shop building and all my household furniture, beds and bedding.

SIGNED by the said testator Charles Norris in the presence of us, present at the same time, who at his request, in his presence, and in the presence of each other, have subscribed our names as witnesses.
