Will of John George Nurse

In re
      John George Nurse deceased.

In the name of God Amen.     I John George Nurse of St. John’s Fisherman do hereby make publish and declare this as and for my last will and testament

First I give devise and bequeath to my wife Mary all my landed property houses and premises situate in Bully Street in St. John’s aforesaid and now occupied by me to hold to the said Mary for her life And after her decease the same to become and be the property of my adopted daughter Mary Larkin widow of Joseph Larkin late of St. John’s aforesaid Cooper deceased for her life to be taken and held by the said Mary Larkin as separate estate and after her decease the same to go to her daughter Eliza Mary Larkin.

Secondly all my right title and interest in and to that part of the estate of the late Jabez Nurse situate near Longs Hill and on part of which the Phoenix Fire Brigade engine house now stands I give and bequeath to my said wife for her life and from and after her decease I give and bequeath the same to Thomas Joseph Larkin and John William Larkin children of the said Joseph Larkin deceased and to such person as my said wife may by last will and testament direct in equal proportions between them and in default of such direction then to the said children equally

Thirdly- I give devise and bequeath all my right title and interest in and to the land and premises whereon stand the houses now occupied by James Lainegar, widow Maloney and Isaac Moors respectively situate near the Phoenix Fire Brigade Engine house in St. John’s aforesaid to my said wife Mary for her life time and after her decease to the said children of Joseph Larkin deceased in equal proportions amongst them.

Lastly. I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my friend Alexander Furlong of St. John’s aforesaid Shoemaker executor of this my last will and testament and do hereby revoke annul and declare void all former and other will by me heretofore made    Witness my hand at St. John’s aforesaid this eleventh day of April Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and seventy-seven.     John George his X mark Nurse.    Signed published and declared by the said John George Nurse as and for his last will and testament in our presence who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereto set our hands as witnesses on the day and year above written having been first read over and approved of by the said testator in our presence and the presence of each of us April 11^th 1877.    Robert J.
