In re DECEASED.
GEORGE PENNY.
1st I George Penny Senior of Ramea Newfld of sound mind and memory declare
this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following. I appoint
my Brother Charles Penny of Halifax and my son Gordon
Penny Ramea executors
of this my last will and testament.
Second. I give devise and bequeath unto my said wife "Fann
Penny" all my household
furniture and effects for her own use except "Piano" one bed room outfit owned
by my daughter Mrs. Marie Hanrahan and two thirds of the old Lustre divided
between Marie and Gordon.
Third. I also give and bequeath to Gordon Penny my son all my right title and
interest in the firm of John Penny & Sons providing however that the said
Gordon Penny shall pay each and every year pay out of my estate to Mrs.
Marie Hanrahan his sister three hundred dollars and three hundred dollars every year
to my wife Fann Penny while she lives and no longer.
Fourth. Seventy-five thousand dollars private funds invested in Bonds and stocks
entirely clear of the firm of J. Penny & Sons all in my own name I give
and bequeath eight thousand dollars to my wife "Fann Penny" Twelve thousand
dollars to my daughter Mrs. Ron Hanrahan to be paid one year after my death,
four hundred dollars each to Mount Cashel Orphanage, Belvedere Orphanage and
Church of England Orphanage six hundred dollars for Masses one hundred dollars
to the R.C. Church Ramea for memorial for my first wife Susan Penny and one
hundred for memorial for my mother Mary Penny four hundred dollars for material
to keep church in repairs providing free labour is given, one thousand dollars
each to my Brothers Michael and Charles Penny one thousand dollars each to
my sisters Min Burke Jane Kelti Lucy Penny five hundred dollars to Lillian
Burke five hundred dollars each to Jane and Lizzie Clinton. If either of my
children dies or both dies children of the same surviving receives the amt
due to the deceased share and share alike in proportion to the number of children
balance residue of moneys to be mutually arranged between my son Gordon
Penny and Marie Hanrahan My executors to receive four hundred dollars each for their
services.
I revoke all previous wills made by me at any time.
In witness whereof I have herewith set my hand and seal this tenth day of January
1928 signed sealed and declared by me George Penny my own hand for his last
will and testament.
