Will of W. Arthur Pike, from Newfoundland will books volume 15 page 347 probate year 1931

W. Arthur Pike.

I, W. Arthur Pike, of St John's, in the Colony of Newfoundland, Manufacturer of Aerated Waters, do make, publish and declare this as my last will and testament; First, I hereby revoke and declare null and void all other and former wills by me made; Second, I will and declare that all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses be paid as soon as possible after my death; Third, I give, devise and bequeath unto my mother, Isabella Baggs, of St. John's, my policy of life insurance with the Sun Life Assurance Co, for two thousand dollars ($2,000); Fourth, I give and bequeath unto my wife, Catherine Pike, two policies of Life Insurance, one for One thousand Dollars ($1,000) with the Sun Life Assurance Co of Canada, and one for one thousand dollars ($1,000) with the North American Life Assurance Co. Fifth, I give and bequeath unto my three children, William Jordan Pike, George Jellicoe Pike and Annie Pike, the property belonging to me on Barters Hill, in St John's aforesaid, to be equally divided among them; Sixth. I give and bequeath to each of my said three children the sum of Two thousand dollars ($2,000); Seventh, all the rest residue and remainder of my estate of every description whatsoever, I give, devise and bequeath unto my mother, Isabella Baggs, my wife Catherine Pike, my children, William Jordan Pike, George Jellicoe Pike and Annie Pike to be equally divided between them. In the event of one or more of the above named legatees dying before me the share or shares of such legatee or legatees so dying shall be equally divided among the surviving legatees. Eight. I hereby nominate and appoint Richard Gaul of St John's Yard Foreman, and Simon Butler of the same place, Deputy Registrar of the Supreme Court to be the executors of this my will.
In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my hand at St John's aforesaid this Thirteenth day of January in the year of Our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twenty one.

Signed, Published and Declared by the said testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us both being present at the same time who in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto our names subscribed as witnesses at St John's this Thirteenth day of January A.D. 1931.
