Will of George Porter

The last will of George Porter late of
Change Islands, Planter.

      This is the last will and Testament of me, George Porter, planter, of Change Islands, District of Fogo I appoint my son Walter as the Executor of this my last will and Testament and desire that all my lawful debts be paid, and discharged, as soon as conveniently may after my decease.
With regard to my worldly estate, I give, devise and bequeath whatever money of mine is now in the Savings Bank, St. John's an equal part or portion, to each of my living children. My Funeral expenses, shall be paid by my executor out of the money now in my house no part of that in the Savings Bank to be used for that purpose. The sums known as "Benefits" due me from the Society of United Fisherman and Loyal Orange Association, I bequeath to my grandson George Washington, the said sums to be put in the Savings Bank, in his name, and to be at his own disposal (with the interest) on his attaining to the age of twenty one years. My son Walter to support, and care well for my wife Caroline, as long as she shall live, and to see her decently buried.
To this my last will and Testament I set my name this twenty fifth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and one. George Porter. The foregoing is the last will and testament of George Porter, as declared by him, in our presence, present at the same time, and we, at his request, set our names hereto as attesting witnesses Justigian Dowell. George Chaffey.

      I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will of George Porter
