Will of Robert G. Rendell from Newfoundland will books volume 14 pages 348-349 probate year 1928

In re       DECEASED.
      ROBERT G. RENDELL.

THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me Robert G. Rendell of St. John's Merchant.
FIRST I hereby revoke all former wills and testamentary dispositions by me at any time heretofore made.
SECOND I order and direct that all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses and Death Duties be first paid out of my estate.
THIRD I appoint Royal Trust Company and my daughter Mary Herder, Executors and Trustees of this my will.
FOURTH. The Royal Trust Company is to have the custody of all securities and documents of my estate and is to keep the accounts of my estate.
FIFTH. If, after payment of all liabilities my estate exceeds in value the sum of One hundred thousand dollars, I order and direct that twenty five per cent thereof of the excess over the said amount shall be donated by my Executors and Trustees to charitable, patriotic, religious or educational purposes in such manner and in such proportion as shall be decided by my executor and trustee Mary Herder.
SIXTH. The residue of my estate (after the donations provided for in the preceding paragraph hereof if the estate exceeds one hundred thousand dollars, and in any event if it does not exceed that amount) I order and direct shall be divided in equal proportions amongst my four daughters, the child or children of a deceased daughter taking its or their parents share.
SEVENTH. In the winding up of my estate I order and direct that my Executors and Trustees shall confer with my chief clerk, E. J. Rowe, if still in my employ with a view to the better winding up of my various business interests, and my Executors and Trustees are hereby authorized in their discretion to agree to the incorporation of any or all of my business interests and the taking of shares or shares and cash in the said incorporated Company or Companies.
EIGHTH. My Executors and Trustees may sell or as they deem expedient in the interest of my estate, otherwise dispose of any of the assets of my estate, either for the purpose of liquidating the liabilities or of facilitating the division of the estate, and may delay such sale or disposition for such period as they may deem expedient.

SIGNED by the testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us both being present at the same time, who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses. The words "of the excess over the said amount" having been first interlined on the first page hereof.
