Last Will and Testament of
Thomas Rossiter of St. John's
Dealer deceased.
In the name of God Amen I Thomas Rossiter of
St. John's in the Island of Newfoundland declare this to be my last will and
Testament.
First It is my will and desire that out of my general
estate my just debts and funeral expenses shall be first paid
Secondly.
I give devise and bequeath to my wife Ann Rossiter the dwelling house situate
on Wickford Street No. 37 where I at present reside with all the furniture
therein And also that other dwelling house situate on Wickford Street aforesaid
and numbered 33 - To have and To hold the same to her for and during the term
of her natural life and after her death the said dwelling houses and furniture
shall become the property of my two sons John and William
Rossiter share and
share alike.
Thirdly I devise and bequeath to my son John Rossiter that
dwelling house situate on Goodview Street to be his sole property after he
attains the age of Twenty one years.
Fourthly I devise and bequeath to my son
William Rossiter that dwelling house situate on Wickford Street
No 35 to be his sole property after he attains the age of Twenty one years.
Fifthly I devise and bequeath all other property moneys goods chattels and
effects of which I might die possessed to my said wife Ann Rossiter to
hold the same to her for and during the term of her natural life.
Sixthly It
is my will and desire that should either of my said sons predecease the other
before attaining the age of Twenty one years then and in such case the houses
and property willed to him shall become the property of the surviving one.
I hereby appoint Captain Joseph Power of St. John's to be
sole executor of this my last will and Testament hereby also revoking and annulling
all other wills and Testaments by me heretofore made
Dated at St. John's this
8th day of December A.D. 1894 (sgd) Thomas Rossiter.
Signed Published and declared by the Testator as his last will and Testament
in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other
at his request have hereunto our hands subscribed as witnesses. (Sgd) Joseph
