Spinster deceased
Know all men by these presents
that I Caroline Sansom of Scilly Cove Trinity Bay N.F.L.D. am in weakness
of body but retain a perfectly sound mind and memory, and in the event
of my decease I do dispose of my property and effects as follows to wit:
First:
I give to my beloved mother half the profits derived from my business
the past summer the other half to my nephew Edwin John Sansom,
he is to have also my writing desk.
Secondly: I give to my sister
Mary & her daughter Amelia Caroline Pittman the money invested in
the Shop business viz Nine hundred & odd dollars together with all
my other goods & effects except what is hereinafter named & otherwise
disposed off.
Thirdly: I give & bequeath to my brother
Joshua my shop to be his alone.
Fourthly. I give to
my sister Elizabeth my sewing machine, my safe and money now therein,
and one hundred dollars owed me by Edwin John.
Fifthly:
I give to my brother Isaac’s two children one sovereign each I wish my Brother in law
Luke Pittman to be trustee to the above named estate. In token of which
I do hereunto affix my signature this sixth day of November 1896. (Sgd)
