Last will and testament
of Dora Stafford
of St. John's widow, Deceased
.

This is the last will and testament of me Dora Stafford of Saint John's Newfoundland widow of the late Michael Stafford deceased. First I hereby revoke all former and other wills by me at any time made and declare this to be my true last will and testament. Second. I hereby appoint James D. Ryan of Saint John's merchant sole executor of this my will. Third. I hereby give devise and bequeath to my sister Mary Joseph Pendergast all my interest in the farm lands and property known as "Rostellau" situate near Saint John's and all goods farm stock implements and effects of every description contained on or about the said farm and property also all my estate right and interest in and to the property belonging to me situate on the south side of water Street in Saint John's with all the household goods furniture and effects of every description contained in the house now occupied by me being a part of the said property to hold the same to my said sister Mary Joseph for her sole and absolute use and benefit for ever. Fourth I give devise and bequeath to my sister Catherine Leary an annuity of one hundred dollars to be paid to her yearly during her natural life. Fifth. I give devise and bequeath to my brother Patrick Pendergast an annuity of sixty dollars to be paid to him yearly during his natural life. Fifth I bequeath to my sister Jane Pumphrey the sum of one hundred and sixty dollars. Sixth I bequeath to the Reverend John Ryan of St. Patricks St. John's the sum of eight hundred dollars and to the Reverend Edward Crook of St. Patricks the sum of eighty dollars. I also bequeath a further sum of four hundred dollars to be expended by my said executor in masses for the repose of my soul. Seventh. I bequeath to my sister Margaret Marvell all my interest in the house and property now occupied by her situate on Cochrane Street Saint John's, for her sole and absolute use during her natural life and upon her death I devise that the said house and property shall go to my said sister Mary Joseph for her. Eighth I devise that the annuity of one hundred and sixty dollars which I have for some years paid to Terence Stafford, brother of my deceased husband, shall be continued to him for and during his natural life. Ninth all the rest residue and remainder of my estate property and effects which I have not hereinbefore specifically disposed of I hereby give devise and bequeath to my sister Mary Joseph for her sole and absolute use and benefit. Dated at Saint John's this thirtieth day of May A.D. 1890 Dora Stafford. Signed by the said testatrix in our presence all present at the same time D. Morrison. James D. Ryan.
I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and testament of Dora Stafford.
