Last will and Testament of
Garrett Walsh of Holyrood
Farmer deceased
I Garrett Walsh of Holyrood
Conception Bay Newfoundland, farmer, being of sound and disposing mind
and memory do make and publish this as my last will and Testament hereby
revoking all former wills and dispositions of my property heretofore
at any time by me made.
First. I hereby appoint my wife Ellen
Walsh as Executrix and Richard Dwyer Executor
of of my will.
Secondly I hereby direct the said Executrix and Executor
to pay all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses as soon as
possible after my decease.
Thirdly.
I hereby give bequeath and devise unto my nephew Patrick Ryan,
one gun.
Fourthly. I hereby give devise and bequeath unto my niece-in-law,
Margaret Lewis the sum of twenty five cents.
Fifthly.
I hereby devise and bequeath the sum of five dollars for masses for the
repose of my own soul and five dollars for the repose of my deceased
wife Mary Walsh’s
soul.
Lastly I give devise and bequeath the remainder of my
real and personal estate of every kind and description and wherever situated
unto my wife Ellen Walsh her heirs and assigns absolutely for ever. In
witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this nineteenth day
of February eighteen hundred and ninety eight. (Sgd) Garrett

Signed Sealed published and declared by the said Garret Walsh as and
for his last will and testament in the presence of us present at the
same time, who at his request in his presence and in the presence of
each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses to the due
execution thereof. (Sgd) Richard Dwyer. (Sgd) Edward
Loughlan.
I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and Testament
of Garrett Walsh deceased
