Search this information with your internet browser: newfoundland Langleecrag sacred island You should be able to see several photos and articles about this shipwreck.
It is my understanding that your uncle's body was located fairly quickly and probably buried at St. Anthony. However I could find no record of a headstone for him online. His fellow crew member, William Gammish Colling, was located a few weeks later near Flower's Cove and is buried there in the United Church Cemetery in that settlement. Here is a photo of his headstone: http://ngb.chebucto.org/Cemetery/colling-william-reg-1947flowers-cv-uc-stb.shtml
If I get anymore information I will pass it on to you.
